PJ bass wiring help

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm in the process of building a new P bass and I was thinking of using a stellartone pot and was wondering if its possible to wire it stacked vol - Stellartone - tone? I really like the idea of using a stellartone in conjunction with a tone pot. Seems like it would add a lot of versatility to your bass.

Thanks,
Shane

I don't see why not.
People add those Stellartone pots all the time.

You wouldn't happen to have a wiring diagram or know a place I can find one would you? I'm pretty handy with a soldering gun I just don't know what to solder where...

I could draw you one, but it's basically Jazz bass wiring.

Substitute the Stellartone for the capacitor in the diagram, and treat the two parts of the concentric pot as the separate pots in the diagram.

And FWIW, you shouldn't be using a gun to wire a bass. They get way too hot.
Ideally you want something like a 30-40 watt pencil iron.
