PJ Pickup selection

Sign in to disble this ad
Thanks for all the help with the routing of my bass.

I need some help with the pickups now. Any recommendations on a matched PJ set?..........or can put a plain Fender Jazz bridge PU with the SD 1/4 lb that is currently in the neck position?
I really don't understand PU technology like what caused hum, buzz etc.
Who sells matched sets? Fender?
Help?

thx

This one really should be in the pickups forum, so I'm moving it on over...

Best regards,
Paul

An SJB3 will hum, but will have proper output for the SPB3 in your neck.

try and match the impedance otherwise when both are on all you'll hear is the bridge...for example a dimarzio ultra jazz is 12k which matches nicely with an 11k p pickup
