PJ pickups for Modulus project

I got a Modulus neck off of craigslist and I want to put some parts together around it. I play mostly in a funk/hip hop group...a lot of slapping but also do some deep fingerstyle in the pocket. I also play occasionally in a punk band, mostly with a pick. I like my basses to cut through with some growl.

I've decided a PJ setup might be best for what I'm doing. My experience is limited with this setup, I've used mostly MusicMans.

Does anyone have experience with the Delano or Aero P or J pickups with the big pole pieces? Any other companies make ones like them?

Or do you think these types of pickups would be too bright with a graphite neck?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
