PJ SILENCE!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello I've recently swapped out some pickups on my Ibanez PJ and I decided to pick up one the dimarzio ultra jazzes for the bridge pickup. But the thing is for the P pickup I can roll the volume knob all the way off and the P goes dead quiet, but even with the Dimarzio humbucker if I roll the volume off I still get output from the bridge. I was kind of hoping to be able to just roll it off and be able to solo the P

So my questions. Is it just part of the jazz design to not be able to turn all the way off? I thought that was just a single coil thing. I assumed the dimarzio would be like the P and be able to go dead quiet.

Edit: I forgot to mention that when I first wired it up both pickups would roll off completely, but they were out of phase and sounded like crap. I just don't get it
