playing thru jbl 15 g2 eon

I have found that no amp is perfect.
For jazz gigs I am surprised to find the PA system designed, 400 watt ( 350 and 50 bi amp I believe ) Eon 15 is not bad.

It lacks low end a bit,
it may not handle popping because not designed for those transients
but it has an unveiled sound that I kind of like

problem is impedance mismatch, as I plug directly into this powered speaker- no buffer. I believe that equates to a loss of highs??

I use a vint J
I do NOT want to cover up the essence of this J bass/ amp combo

pedals i tried sadowsky and eden, both mask the tone

How can I not mask tone ( since unmasked tone is what I LIKE about the Eon ) yet improve the impedance match up?
Eon has 1/4 inch IN and XLR IN and OUT

You can use one of those Boss floor mounted tuners, or any effect unit that has electronic switching (i.e., not true bypass). Those units buffer your signal and should allow you to plug into the powered speaker and not alter the tone.

I have a Boss Bass EQ about 7 bands I think
We are talking about the Boss eq changing the impedance to a correct one?

Yes. Even bypassed that should work. And having the EQ is good too.
