Playing Wireless?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm energetic live, but constantly find my wandering space limited by the length of my guitar cable, despite it's length as the amp is sometimes positioned back by the drums. So, I want to invest in one of those wireless transmitters. The name eludes me...

However, I've never bought one of those before. So, any advice on which I should get? I use an Epiphone Thunderbird if that makes any difference.

Thanks for all and any help guys!

If you can swing it, the X-Wire II gets great reviews, espcially for bass. It digitizes the signal so all f the bottom end is preserved. It will extend down to 10 or 20 hz. I don't think any of the others will go that low.

I have an AKG WMS 400 and it's fantastic, goes down to 35hz not to expensive and the sound quality is great.

I also have a Diversity Guitar Bug system by AKG as well and the sound is excellent on that as well but the bug is a bit flimsy.

I'd swap them in a heartbeat for 2 X-wire X2 systems but I wish they made these in a rack unit.

I've gigged my X2 Digital system (new X-Wire) three times now with 100% favorable results.

And since the receiver is pedal-sized, I just set it down on my pedalboard somewhere where it can fit and then put it back in it's box when I'm done.
I'd thought about hard-mounting it, but that's just an accident waiting to happen! Then I just run one cable to my amp, and I'm good, with pedalboard and all my FX running smoothly!

X2 Wireless, hands down.

http://www.x2digitalwireless.com/

I've had mine since Feb (I think) and it hasn't let me down. I've even used it for studio recording (gasp!).
