Unhappy Please help with active MEC bypassing

Hi,

I'd like to know a little more about electronics in the Warwick Rockbass fretless that my frieng bought for a half price. The reason was "something with electrocics". The bass acted OK for some time but then those terrible noises started to live again and nobody could help, so i said i'm going to bypass it.. What i had in mind was to wire it straight to the jack, or through the 9v battery (as on those familiar S-D schemes). Are those pickups active? they have 3 out-wires : one red single and thick white coaxial.

So.. if anybody knows some easy way to make the bass sing without buying a new active el. (i don't need controls), i'd be very thankful.

all the best,

mike

yep, the red goes to the battery (they are active pups). does the bass also have active tone, or just pots (w/o circuitry)? the center of the coax can go to the hot tang on the jack, the coax jacket can go to the ground tang, and the battery ground can go to the "ring" tang. as far as "singing"...if you don't want to replace the pups, you might look into an aggi onboard pre. easy on the wallet, and a great performer.
