Please Help Me Identify These Fender Jazz Pups.

Bought these on Ebay from a guy who says the bass was an '05 or '06. The part numbers according to Fender should be 033753 (neck) and 033746 (bridge). The molded in numbers as you can see are 048612 (neck) and 048613 (bridge). Those part #'s dates back to the 90's. In white ink you can see the later model numbers hand written (and worn in a way that looks like that was done a while ago).

Q's:
1. anybody out there that sees a lot of Fender parts ever seen anything like this (hand written serial that differs from molded part)

2. which pups do you think these actually are

3. does it matter

BTW, I bought them because the bridge pickup died on my 45 day old 2007 Fender Am Jazz. It is in the shop for warranty repair but Fender is telling the luthier that the part is backordered until at least October 15! I think, however, that I'm better off waiting for the part if there is any question about these.

Thanks in Advance...

Personally, I don't think it does because, although it won't help you now, there are much better Fender and after market pickups than these. If all you want is a set to use till you get yours back, then just use them. Otherwise, I'd get a refund (difficult on ebay) and find a better set.

Fender pups are pretty much always a mystery. Those look like MIA Fenders though. Those same numbers are imbedded on lots of their Bobbins regardless of the pup and don't mean a thing that I can decipher. Also not unusual for the white lettering. Again, have no clue what it means - perhaps an employee number so they can track the culprit down who authorized the release of the pups in your bass.

The real culprit, however, is whoever approved the design.
