I've read til I'm almost blue in the face - SMAHS's thread in particular - I've asked, emailed, and all that stuff ... and I still cant decide which to buy.

I've got a Fender USA DLX Jazz 5 with maple board. I use TI Jazz Flats and I play a rocky - blues style.

ATM the bass is real bright (no real surprise there, tho!!) and I'd like to tame that somewhat. I'm striving for what might be called a typical passive, humbucking sound of the 60s / 70s era. Any brightness can come from the bass, I don't need bright pups. I can't slap n pop so that's not an issue either.

Part of the issue is that some pups apparently wont fit a Fender 5 without re-routing but I'm honestly not sure what's what on that.

Suggestions to get me rolling much appreciated.

Ta.

John
