Pole Pieces Above Cover

Sign in to disble this ad
I hope this isn't a silly of a question. I have seen jazz basses where the pole pieces stick out above the plastic cover a small amount but most seem to be flush. Is there a "correct" alignment?

I adjusted the height of my new custom shop 60's and the pole pieces stick out from the cover 1/16" or so. If I raise the cover to make the pole pieces flush the cover is loose. Is it OK if the pole pieces stick out?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Thanks - I was concerned that I had torqued down the plastic covers too far. The spacing between the top of the pole pieces and strings is where it should be spec-wise.
