Pole/String spacing?

I don't see that sort of information on many info blurbs about pickups.

I'm curious how to make sure a custom build goes smoothly.

Looking to have a J set a la Thumb on a Jazz Bass Custom Build.

Since I don't have all the answers and have probably left several key points of information out of the equation, How would I find this out myself?

Find out the string spacing on the thumb...then try to find the pole width from MEC and use that?

I wonder about Thumb string spacing. Is bridge width pretty standardized?

Hmm...Gotta keep searching.

So the pickup length on the MEC is 91-95mm while the DiMarzio UltraJazz is 86mm...

Anyone know if there are any other brands that make long J's?

Bartolini has 91mm/95mm pickups (9J and 9CBS series), Nordstrands are also 91mm/95mm (NJ4 series)... as far as I know, most pickup manufacturers make them in that form factor.
