Popular Rotary Switches

(Searched, found no threads on this.)

Wanting to do my own varitone/decade control, and hoping to find some well-estabilished rotary switches I might use that are easy to install in a guitar/bass (shaft size, depth). Any suggestions? I'm not having much luck with Google on this.

Are there size-indicating diagrams for the AES ones somewhere? They look like they'd nicely interchange with my Bourns pots.
