I have a spector euro with emg dc's in it.Although i like the sound it has i would prefer it to be just a little less harsh.I am thinking of putting an emg cs in one of the positions but am not sure which one.Any advice on where i should put it and why? Thanks in advance for all help.

You might need to replace both pickups. The general consensus here is that an EMG "CS" soapbar would sound better in the bridge position, and an EMG "P" soapbar in the neck position would be a good complement to the "CS".

I've heard that EMG "DC" soapbars were designed for a "sweet spot" location (i.e. Music Man) which means they end up sounding too harsh in the bridge position, and way too forceful in the neck position.

To my ear, all EMGs are too harsh and bright.

Any consideration to a TW or two? The TWs are definitely darker and, to my ear, a bit fuller in the low-mids than the DCs.

Yep, because the TWs have ceramic magnets (like the CS) and can be switched between the two coil layouts of the CS and J soapbars. That might be a better idea than simply a CS. But the DC in the neck position is still going to overpower the TW in "stacked" (J) mode.

I have the TW/P combination (+ Aguilar OBP-3, of course) in my Spector and I love it. Very versatile and all-around pleasing. Much less aggressive than the two DC's that I have in my Schecter.

I don't want to get rid of the edge the dc's have i just want to round it off a little bit.I know it is all up to the person playing what they want to sound like but as i said i do basically like the sound of the bass now so i was just wondering what everyone's opinion was on where to put the pickup if i did decide to change it.Also i have played tw's before and don't really know if they are for me.

Does it still have a TonePump? Perhaps swapping the pre would achieve your goal.

Yes it still has the tonepump and changing that to a bqc system will be the next step because i do like the idea of a blend knob instead of two volume knobs.I know this may sound anal but the reason i want to switch is because i want my 5 string and 4 string to sound as close as possible when i switch between them during the set (now i understand they will never sound exactly alike but i am 100% sure i can get them extremely close) They are the same exact build with the same pickup configuration and as i said they are very very close now. Also my friend has a cs and with the emg quick connect i can just throw it in and it won't cost me a dime.So as i stated i was basically looking for the pros and cons of installing it in each position.
