Possible for bridge pickup to be shorter than neck on J-bass?

They are antiquity II's. The one labeled bridge is shorter. Also, the one labeled neck has the poles on the A+D string lower than the E+G. So I'm thinking That they are in fact labeled correctly and the bridge pickup is shorter?

Are you sure you didnt mix them up or something?

I had an Antiquity II bridge before i got my CN pickup, and it fit just fine in the bridge position.
I replaced the cover with a cream colored one, which was sized for a bridge pickup.

One is 3 3/4 one is just a little more than 3 1/2. They could be labeled wrong but why would the poles be shorter on the A+D strings on the bridge?

It would seem that if a bass pickup were to have staggered pole pieces, the A and D would be higher to better match the radius of the fingerboard/string height.
I don't know why they would be lower.

In either case, the longer pickup should indeed be a bridge pickup.

see that's what I'm thinking. The longer one has the poles lowered on the middle to. How does that make sense? Is it possible the dude hammered the 2 middle ones down???

Think this deserves a second post.

Take a look at the bottom of the pickup...
The pole pieces should be flat against the bobbin.

If he hammered them down, they would be protruding.

Ya, the middle 2 are protruding on the bottom. Go craigslist!!!

I'm starting to doubt these are even antiquity II's. How would I even prove it beside that he sent them in a box. He probably just sent his old ones to me in antiquity II box.

The bobbins should be grey, and the wire should be black.
The pickup foam should have a little serial number sticker on it.
The cover should be scratched up looking.
The leads should be dirty looking cloth wire.
