I am doing a project bass. i am wondering what all i can do to get the maximum sound range out of the set of jazz pickups for it. I am fond of duncan pups, so i bought a set of quarter pound jazz pickups. i am looking at their STC-3 passive pre-amp (http://www.seymourduncan.com/images/...501060-105.pdf) and curious of what all i can do with it. Do i need to have a Master volume and blend, or can i make it neck volume + push/pull slap switch and neck volume + push pull (or separate switch) series/parallel? what do i need to do to put in an active/passive swith? what else can i do to maximize sound range? i haven't routed for for pups yet. do you think i should do modern or vintage bridge location? i thought i would go with whatever geddy had on his j bass. thanx for the help. i am completely lost on the wiring area.
