Possible new PUPs for my BTB?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ive had my Ibanez BTB575 for a few months now and I've always loved it. However, I think I'm finally getting out of the "Honeymoon" period and starting to pick up on the little things that are bugging me. I don't know much about electronics so I figured I'd turn to my fellow low-enders in hopes for some ideas.

The BTB has the active Bartonlini MK-2 pups in it as of right now. They were a big selling point because I was always told "Barts are the way to go" But I've noticed that as far as the E and B are concerned they're really muddy, and the lower mids are really thin sounding. I've messed with my amp and I can get a good enough sound but I'm getting picky. I know I can't get a P-Bass tone of out the Barts but I do want something "fuller" but not to the point where it muddies the hell out of my low strings.

Any suggestions from you gear heads out there?
