Possible replacements for Cirrus 5 BXP

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Guys,

I don't know if any of you might be able to help me. I'm looking to change the Pups on my Cirrus 5 BXP for something with a little more bottom. I love the sound of the Bartolini Mk1s but I don't think they would fit on my bass. Any suggestions guys?

If I remember correctly, any pickups in the EMG "45" series should be drop-in replacements for Cirrus 5-string and 6-string pickups, except for the little mounting tabs on the sides. Measure your pickups to make sure. If they measure 4.5" by 1.5" (not counting the mounting tabs) then any good pickups in this shape will fit. Here are some examples:

Bartolini M45 shape ("classic bass" or "deep tone")
EMG 45 series (active)
Lace BassBar 4.5
SGD ND3-45 or SW4-45
Seymour Duncan ASB2-6
Q-Tuner BL6

Have you figured out what you're going to do with the Cirrus pickups? If these are the active pickups (with a red wire and a coaxial white wire with shield) then I may be interested. I actually think they sound pretty good.
