Pot values of passive MM SUB?

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone know if the pots are 250k or 500k?
I'm wanting to make the bass a tad brighter but i dont know what to change the pots to because i dont know what are on there at the moment.

Is there a way of telling? I can see no markings as far as i know.

I am not familiar with Stingrays, but this "SUB" bass is active like the regular Stingrays, right?

I am pretty sure that the pots in a stingray are of the 25K persuasion rather than 250K or 500K.

The EQ knobs interact directly with the preamp, not the audio, so changing their values will only alter the functionality of the EQ and not affect your tone.
If the volume control is coming after the preamp, it is probably a 25K or 50K.

for passive configuration, you can use 500k or 1 meg. 1 meg is definitely brighter and crispier, the normal one is 500k for tone and volume.
but, for active configuration, like line6 said, it uses 25k.

My bass is passive. Im aware that 25k pots are used for a preamp but i have two passive tone knobs and i want to limit it to one pot with a higher resistance value. But i cant know a higher resistance value if i dont know the original :S

Well, in that case, i would pull out an ohm meter and check the pots.
