Pots for Lakland hollow body......I want to reconfigure my control layout

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently have a Lakland hollow body. The bass has 2ea Bart pups. The controls are passive....it has a vol for ea pup and tone control for ea pup. There is a 3 posistion toggle for pup selection, and a small 2 position switch for single-coil mode (basically splits the soap bar pups and allows them to run like a single coil). Any how, I am not that big a fan of way the bass's control's are configured. I am not a fan of having 2 seperate vol controls, or two seperate tone controls for that matter. I really dont need to mix/match seperate pup vol....nor do I ever see myself needing/wanting to split the volume in the future. If need be, I can always use the 3 position to select the bridge pup, neck pup, or both. So....the bass is drilled for 4 holes. I really want to only have one master vol and master tone (if I keep the tone knob). I want to wire the bass for either;

Master volume, master tone, master bass, and master treble....w/ keeping the 3 position pup selector in tact....I can live w/o the single coil switch.....I can live with it as well

-OR-

Master vol, master bass, master mid, master treble....same thing with the pup selector and coil tap.

My question is, what configuration would you recommend AND what pots should I use.
