Pots for Vintage Modified Precision

Sign in to disble this ad
I'd like to know which Pots are a direct replacement for the Squier Vintage Modified Precision bass?

I took off the pickguard, and looked at the pots. They look like mini Alpha A250k pots.

I'm ordering a prewired pickup replacement, and had concerns about the pots they used fitting the cavity, etc. I'd like to find a direct replacement, so I can use my existing knobs, and not have to modify anything.

If full sized pots would fit, I would just go with that. However, I don't want to take a chance. I guess I would need a split shaft too, since I don't see a screw on the side of the knob?

Thank you!

You should be fine with any A250K mini pot.

Look on the inside of your knob: does it have the fluting like a Strat guitar knob, or is is smooth with a setscrew? Fluting = split shaft; setscrew = solid shaft.

No need to look, the pots on the Squier VM P are split-shaft.
