Which Pre amp for Bartolini's??

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a warwick fna jazzman with a J/MM picup config. I have decided that I like the big, round and hot sound of bartolinnis, but I am unsure of which pre amp to go with. I was thinkin Bart (obviously), Aguilar, or possibly EMG.

Anyone with ideas throw em out there, Id love to hear em.

Bart (colored) or Aguilar (cleaner)

Both powerful IMHO.

I had both an Aguilar OBP-3 and a Bart HR 4.6 AP
The OBP was VERY clean...too clean for my tastes. I like a more gritty/growly sounding pre, which the Bartolini excelled at. Of the 2, I'd choose a Bart again.

bart, go bart, I have tried aggies with bart pups numerous times with no success, aggies tend to work well with nordstrand pickups, but it seems like with barts aggie preampss end up not meshing with bart pickups IMO
