Pre-Wired Jazz Harness

Sign in to disble this ad
4 pots, 2 capacitors, and 11 scars later, I'm beginning to think that I'm no good at soldering

I'd like to finish my project Jazz soon and was wondering if there was a place to buy a pre-soldered wiring harness. Just a standard passive Volume Volume Tone would be great. I have a control plate and knobs, but I've seen some that have already been mounted to a control plate. That would be great as well. I SHOULD be able to solder the pick ups to the pots myself.

The pickups will mot likely be Antiquity II's or NJ4's, if that makes a difference.

Thanks

I wouldn't even try to solder anything without flux.

OP: There are guyz on ebay that sell pre-wired harnesses. Search on 'bass harness' or 'bass wiring', etc.

PS - I have been waiting 2 months for a cable from Butch, my first one, so I can't tell you how good it is, but I hope it will be worth the wait!!

There's usually somebody on eBay selling complete pre-wired J control plates with pots, knobs, caps, the whole works for way cheap. I suppose some of them might be from guys who've upgraded to Audere or similar units.

But you can't beat alexgeddy's offer, very generous.

Solder enough of ANYTHING and you'll realize it's just easier to use flux the first time and get it right than to overheat the part or have a broken solder joint or whatever the problem may be.
