Sorry no pictures yet, but tell me what you think about this project...

The Yamaha NE-1 parametric EQ is being gutted and mounted with a Master volume, 3-way PuP selector (N, NB, B) and a push/pull bypass(master volume) and will serve as the "active preamp". Will post pics within 3 weeks.

Matt,

Did you find someone to do the work for you?

Hey Charlie, Yes sir. Wizard electronics in ATL for $150. Total cost to me $210. Not a bad deal at all and a local elctronics guy. I was able to explain in detail how I wanted the pots mounted... very cool. Called today, will pick up Monday and post pic's. Talk to you soon.

Great, I look forward to seeing how it comes out. I've been thinking about doing an onboard preamp with a fully parametric EQ eventually, put that's not gonna happen any time soon I'm afraid.

are you using the stock NE-1 rotary switch for the Q control or are you replacing that with a 3-position Toggle?

I think that this is a worthy adaptation of an external preamp into an internal device.

Can't wait to see it.

Keeping the rotary switch, no chicken heads tho. I'm thinking like this... if I don't like the NE-1 onboard... install a Audere or ACG. The NE-1 pedal stand alone is amazing. The boost and tone control is just killer sounding. Should be different and functional, what I like about designing instruments for me.

Edit* cost of electronics work was $132, not $150. So new parametric EQ "preamp" under $200.
