preamp bass ratings

On board preamps list 20 - 50 Hz for bass. Just how important is this to consider?

I've never seen a 20Hz bass control on a bass. In any case, frequency centers are a personal preference.

EMG BTS control bass rating @ 20 hz. I figure if a F# (below the low B) low string is being used this would enhance its audibility/clarity? True or false?

Most cabs can't produce that, or even less than 35-40hz. Most of the low F# sound you'll hear will be the first few overtones / harmonics which will be above 40hz anyways.
