Preamp or Buffer? redeemer?

Sign in to disble this ad
Is there a 'preamp' that could boost a master output volume to compensate for dialed back volume/tone so that I could have an Audere approach using my passive volume/tone controls as a 'z' control with no secondary volume? (but perhaps a mini bypass switch?)

Would a Redeemer Circuit do this?

The Redeemer output is unity, no boost. Buffers aren't always designed for boost. However, any preamp designed for boost will do what you want.

without another control knob?

I want to avoid further controls on a '62 control plate...so it'd be kinda like having an audere with *just* the z control, but as a pot instead of a switch.

I'm not looking to necessarily make my bass louder with volumes full up, just volume down.

The Redeemer does the opposite of what I'm looking for (just watched a video)...I want a change of response from the pickups with very little volume change (but a chance to turn my volume down) so that I can roll off, say, my neck pickup and still get the huge low end but a lowered midrange response while retaining the same amount of signal flow.

I do like certain things about the redeemer but for this application it doesn't work.
