Precise method to compare pickup locations in two different scales
For example if I have a 34'' scale bass and a 32'' scale bass and want to see where the 32'' scale bass's neck pickup would fit on the 34'' scale bass (to be in the same harmonic spot for the open string), I'm not totally sure the best method of doing this.
Here's what I think but correct me if I'm wrong:
1. Measure from the nut to the median position of the bridge saddles for each bass.
2. Measure the percentage of distance of the median line of the pickup of interest on the bass of interest. (Nut to pickup over nut to bridge distance.)
3. Convert the percentage to an actual distance by multiplying the new scale length.
Is that an accurate method?
