SD sbcIII '51 P replacement: durability?

OK, I have one of these in my '51 P re-issue...and I wonder about it's durability in these terms:
I've heard horror stories of the old originals, and new ones coming apart after "using them as thumbrests" for extended periods.
Should I be concerned about this with the SD pup as well?

Answered my own Q by calling the SD service tech, who said he'd never heard of this problem, had one come back for that problem, and would "take care of anyone that ever happened to if that ever happened."
