it wouldnt hurt to run the pre amp at 18v ,but not necessary.. i say if you have the room for 2-9volt batteries go for it... good-luck..

I have had 2 of them both at 9 volts, never tried 18

Never felt the need to

It is perfectly safe to run the Duncan tone circuits at 18V and it will enhance the tone a bit but I don't think you will see a huge difference. Like said above, if you have room for the batteries give it a shot and see what you think
