Should I flick the switch before, or after I toke up?
Just kidding, of course. So I am adding a 3 band active tone circuit to a bass I'm putting together. It comes pre-wired so all I have to do is hook the pickups up and I am set.
But, I will be using a Dimarzio Willpower neck pickup and I was to have a Series/Parallel/Split switch. Would this go before the pots i.e. Pickup - Switch - Wiring Harness.
Or would I take a wire from the Wiring Harness and go to the switch from there?
Also, I know that there are more switch options for the pickup like in phase/out of phase. I can see the coil split being useful and one that I will use a lot but do the Phase and Series/Parallel options add useful tones? I know that's opinion based but I know that just because a bass has the option to do these things does not mean that it sounds good.
Also, does anyone else use a blend knob as opposed to separate volumes? All of these active EQ circuits seem to use the Blend knob.
