seymour duncan basslines ground wire? Does anyone know which write is the ground in a Seymour duncan stk-j1? |
Here is the original wiring instruction ... http://www.seymourduncan.com/images/...501030-115.pdf Green is "ground to coil", bare is "Ground to shielding" ... |
Thanks bud. The reason I ask is that I've fitted a j-retro and since doing so my pick ups have been buzzing when I touch the poles. I figure they need grounding. So of I connect the bare wire to the shielding the problem should go. Yes? |
Yes. If there is a bare wire, it ALWAYS HAS to be soldered to GROUND. The bare wire on a "5 conductor cable" never "influences the coils". If you had an out-of-phase problem when both PUs are on, you would have to change the black and green wire, but bare would always have to be connected to ground. |
Thanks man. That's just what I needed to hear |
