Soapbar = Precision?

So i'm playing some of my favorite classic King Crimson tunes (John Wetton Stuff) and I decided to play with just my neck pickup (which is a Mighty Mite soapbar.) I gotta say, this sounds pretty darn similar to a P-bass. Is it just my ears, or are they pretty similar? The difference to me is the fact that the soapbar sounds a lot more scooped.

IIRC, the mighty mite soap bars have a P-style magnet/coil configuration.

So does that mean that my bass essentially has 2 P pickups?

Pretty much, yeah. I had a Conklin GT4 that had the same thing.
