squire jazz bass wiring / seymour duncan / cts pots Hi - I got seymour duncan pickups and a wiring kit with cts pots from stew macdonald. the wiring diagrams aren't quit the same. for ex, s.d wiring shows the jack as having a ground. s.m. shows jack connected with both connections to the tone pot. which do I follow? thanks for any advice...John |
Either one of those diagrams will work. |
Hi John, my 424 pages wiring diagram contains about 20 "standard" JB wirings!!! The original 1963 JB had the GND via controlplate, so only one wire at the jack! You can wire GND from the jack to the pot housing. This gives a "more secure" grounding. You mustn't bur you can ... The wiring of the capacitor at the tone pot also differs. But they all work ... "There is more than one way to Rome" ... |
thanks guys |
