Stingray pickup output

Will the stock stingray pu have enough output if i throw one into a passive pbass with no preamp?

It's not that bad on output passive. You can also wire it in series for more output and a fuller tone.

Im doing a build (or well.... Assembly) that has the same config, and i kinda got to the same conclusion.
Havent actually asembled my new friend but my plan is to wire thte pickups eith switches to make the musicman series/single coil/parallel and the p bass ser/par perhaps also a switch to bypass the electronics on the bass and have a external preamp give it a more true atingray sound.

the stock stingray 5 pickup in my old sub when wired passive and in series was hotter than most of my active basses and would push my epifani quest pre into saturation at pretty low gain levels. wired parallel, the pickup felt around the same output as your average passive bass.
