stingray pickups?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've had a stingray for almost 8 years now and I've always wondered is there anything I can get as far as pickups go to really up my sound. Not that the stock pickup isn't already amazing I'm just curious.

What do you mean when you ask for something to "up" your sound?

There are other options out there, but do you want something that sounds smoother and bassier, or do you want something with more high end to it? (etc etc)

Nordstrands are a favourite for the vibe of the original MM pups.
Seymor Duncans do a few aswell, Quarter Pounders being a staple choice.
Bartolini do a few aswell, mainly more subdued sounding.
Delano do a few which are quite interesting, such as one which gives you a J-style option at the bridge.
(the options go on!)

Going to have to be more specific, and tell us what you are looking for, for us to be able to try and help

I apologize! I should have been more specific. I'm looking to really increase my low end but I don't want to sacrifice the mids and highs(obviously).

Have you tried adding in more bass using your amplifier or the preamp?

You could always look at trying a different string brand/type as well.

I haven't looked for a stingray pickup with more bass, as I'm happy with mine as is, so can't really help in that respect!

Oh I agree the stock pickup is awesome I was just seeing what my options were. But yes active electronics is the easy way to handle this situation Haha. I'm going to look into the pickups you suggested just to see what there about. Thank you very much!

the MM circuit is top-notch; you won't really achieve more than a sideways move rather than an uprade.

if you need more lows out of a stingray, something's wrong!
