Straight to the jack

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,
I wonder if you can help me.

I have a squier vm P-bass and I got tired of the pots constantly failing me, so I tried to connect the pup straight to the output jack.
I also connected the bridge ground to the ground of the jack, but the bass still keeps buzzing like an idiot.
I think that the wire going to the bridge doesn't make good contact, but is there no other place where I can ground it other than the bridge?

ive wired a couple of basses this way. make sure the back of the bridge is clean (sandpaper?) enought to make good contact with the wire and make sure you have a good guitar cable.
