straightwired p bass

Sign in to disble this ad
hey all, i just dusted off an old p bass and i had it wired from the pickups to a switchcraft 3 way switch on/off/off and from that straight to the 1/4" jack. it sounded pretty great. it was farting out this ss amp i was using the other day, so i bought some quarter pounders and it sort of still had the same deal -seemed to be distorting/fuzzing. am i sending too hot of a signal to the amp? i don't have any other ideas...its not the cable, speaker cable or amp...my pups are brand new and so is the jack - am i missing something here? do i need to use some sort of cap or resister for this to work? i had it wired like this for years and never had a problem...
thx
p
