Strange delay problem

I shipped a boss DD-3 recently and upon receipt apparently only the hold setting is working. Has anyone ever heard of an issue like this where the normal delay modes don't work but the hold setting does? Bypassed signal is apparently working as well. It was working fine when I shipped it so I'm assuming it was damaged during shipping. Any idea what the problem could be?
