A string louder than rest

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Godin A4 Fretless bass that I bought recently. I was recording with it for the first time yesterday and noticed that the "A" string was quite a bit louder than the other strings. Would this suggest a problem with the pickup?

Thanks

it could be the A string is closer to the pickup than the others. Or maybe the room´s acoustic enhances the A note.
