Question String spacing with EMG 40DC pickups...

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking about a project bass and can't seem to find anywhere what string spacing these pickups need. If anyone has any insights it would be greatly appreciated!

They use bar magnets so they really don't care about string spacing. Atleast that's what I was told by the luthier who installed them. I have them on a BTB w/ 19mm spacing if that helps.

The EMG site specifies a maximum width of 3.40". You are fine as long as the spacing fits into this area.

Thanks! So the pups are blade style, with a max spread of 3.4", that's exactly what I needed to know. That actually gives me a couple more bridge options as well, which is always a good thing.
