String spacing? and pickups?

Sign in to disble this ad
What is meant by string spacing at the bridge? does this mean measuring the distance between the strings as they pass over the saddles of the bridge?

I'm trying to find out the accurate string spacing of my yamaha bb605 to see if it's compatible with the seymour duncan 5 string musicman pickups. Can anyone tell me the string spacing for these p'ups or the stingray 5 bass so I can try and work out if the strings will match the magnets?

I'm also guessing (and have heard in a few threads on here) that the neck pickup will be the same dimensions and so ight loose the strings a little de to their thinner spacing. is this a problem, will the tone or response be effected in a noticeable way? any stingray 5 H/H users found this?

Cheers
