Sudden decrease in input volume?

Today when I went to practice I noticed that the input meter on my ashdown amp barely went up, even at the highest input volume. I also tried playing my bass with my headphone amp and the same thing occurred: the volume was significantly lower than usual, even at max. So I was wondering what the source of this problem might be... is it the pickups or the input hole? The guitar is only like 5 months old so I don't understand whats going on. Any suggestions?

Is your bass active? If so, you need to replace the battery.

This would probably do better in the pickups/electronics forum.

With any input issues the first thing I do is replace the jack. It's cheap and easy.

Really? Thats it? Does it matter what kind of input jack i get? Maybe i'll jsut go to bass emporium on tuesday and get them to do a full setup thing...
