Suggest A PJ set please

Sign in to disble this ad
Will you please suggest a PJ bass pickup set that will fit in an Ibanez GSR190 or GSR200? It must be in the 100-150 dollar range, and must not be active. Any recommendations? Also, if possible it should be sold on reliable site such as or Musicians Friend.
Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure about the dimensions of the Ibanez pickups but how about Seymour Duncans? They have 3 different types, Vintage, Hot and Quarter Pounder and each P goes for $65 and each J goes for $58 which puts them right in the middle of your price range.
I cant really describe sound very well but check out the product descriptions-I would think one of their types would fit whatever style of music you're playing.

These prices are from bestbassgear.com which is where my Duncans (mm and 1/4 pounder P) and my bridge came from for the new custom that should be delivered tomorrow

They also have an Antiquity series but those are much more expensive (the P alone is $115!)

Good luck on your search.

Be sure to triple check the exact size of any pickup you buy, since there are a few different standards out there (and some people who ignore the standards altogether).

I just bought a set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pups from the Guitar Center here in town for about $120, for the set. I have heard many good things about them so I thought I would give them a try. I know Bartolini makes a P/J set also, I see them on ebay routinely.

Bill Lawrence has the P46 and J 45 pickups. The two would cost just about $120. Excellent pickups.

Consider a Villex P-J set. Heard good things about it.
