Suggestions EMG pre stopped working in my Schecter

OK, so I'm to blame here 100% I was changing the battery and put it in backwards long enough to go, "Hey idiot you put the battery in backwards!" The bass is a Schecter Stargazer. It has 2 EMG HZ passive pickups that go into an EMG treble and bass boost pre.

After I put the battery in properly I got NOTHING. New battery NOTHING. I emailed Schecter and EMG...NOTHING. I wrote a brief and honest email asking for suggestions. I can't believe a simple mistake would completely rock a $700 bass. If it was a $200 bass, yeah OK, I could expect that.

Any suggestions? I could wire this up passive, spend $80 for a new pre which I wasn't really crazy about in the first place, or sell the bass at a huge loss.

More than anything I think EMG and Schecter's customer service is rotten.

blah. Alright, amongst my emo rant.

There isn't anyway to fix the pre is there? I see 2 tiny switches? I mean this pre is no bigger than a quarter.

this may be a longshot, but some of those basses have the battery clip so close to the volume pot where i've seen them ground themselves out. I could be wrong, but i'm not sure that a backwards battery would cook your preamp. I bet you knocked something out of wack..

Prokfrog, that's for the reply! The battery has its own separate compartment in the back of the bass if that is what you are referring to.

When I put a battery in normal it does nothing. When I put the battery back in backwards it makes a single click sound then nothing. If this bass only had a battery clip vs. a seat in position.
