Suggestions? EMG's?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an Ibanez SD500 and am pretty done with the stock bartolini's that came with the bass. Could anybody suggest a good set of pickups? Thinking for a good jazz tone. A lot of people have suggested EMG's, suggestions?

Usa barts, or nordy's. I put emg's in a sdgr and regretted it. I'm an emg guy, just not in those basses. Maybe its not the pups and is the preamp you don't like. What is it you don't like about it?

I feel the same way about the EMG's they're magic in some basses and doodoo in others.

Keep in mind the stock Barts are imports. Some people like them and just change the pre amp. I would say the pre amp is the weakest part of those electronics. IMO of course.
