Swapping out pre-amp & pick-ups. Recommendations Spector Euro 4LX (PJ)

Ièm quite a fan of the the feel & look of the Spector Euro LX, in fact It was probably the easiest bass I ever played. Anyways, I seem to like the sound of the bass itself, with the growl. But Ideally Ièm leaning towards a slightly more organic tone, with generally more depth, but Ièd hope to keep the flexibility of an active bass. Ièm curious of everyoneès PUP & electronic recommendations. I play rock for the most part, though I will from time to time dwell into something lighter or heavier. Ièd hope for some general diversity in tone however. The PUP configuration is PJ.

I find that the preamp (Spector TonePump) is really the limiting factor in your tone. Try going to BestBassGear.com and ordering an Aguilar OBP-3. You'll probably want one with the stacked bass/treble pot and the additional push/pull switch on the mid pot to eliminate the amount of physical modifications to your bass.

Hm... I appreciate the Aguilar recommendation, it's actually a very attractive pre-amp, so much so that after a little research, I'm getting it, haha. However, I am still curious towards everyone's opinion on a new set of PJ PUPs, or should I remain with the EMG's?

IMO, the EMG's should be fine.
