Switch Mod Help

Sign in to disble this ad
i want to put a jaguar style plate with three switches on my jazz bass. ive come with two combination concepts. i dont know much about wiring, so im looking for some help and to see if my ideas will even work.

first idea: two switches are series/parallel switches (one for each pickup) and the third being a kill switch.

second: one switch being a series/parallel switch, the second being a kill switch, and the third a phase switch.

the switches would then go into a standard VVT jazz bass setup.

id like to know if any of these are possible, and if anyone could help me with wiring.

thanks.

Both options are possible, but keep in mind-
1. Jazz basses have single coil pickups. Series/parallel switching will only work if you have humbucking pickups, and not of the split coil variety.
2. Phase switches are useless.

okok, thats what i thought. so one series/parallel switch would be sufficient. what if i did something like this:
1:Series/Parallel Switch
2:Capacitor switch
3:Killswitch

is it possible to have those switches in a row?

There are several methods of physically wiring it, but all will function identically.
