switch question?

phase reversal switch on my peavy t-40 bass is in need of replacing. i cant seem to find an exact replacement switch( c&k 7201) but found one at radio shack that is similar.. can i use any on off style switch to make it work again or do i need an exact replacement part?

Yes. You can use any small DPDT (on on). But, don't buy a cheap switch. In my experience, the Radio Shack switches don't hold up to guitar use.

the radio shack switch is rated a higher voltage and what not is there some kind of switch i should avoid?

It's not voltage you should be concerned with, but quality of construction. If you like tinkering, you can buy an entire lot of 20 DPDT (on on) switches on eBait and replace them as they go bad. I would find a reputable electronics supplier and purchase a quality switch.
