Switch shafts are not long enough to fit through body

I'm installing a URetro preamp with the two switches. I have all of the tone pots installed with no problem. I got to the switches and they are not long enough to thread on top of the body. What are my options?

Usually you have to rout the top thinner where the switches are from the back. It only has to be an area large enough for the switch body to fit.

The switches sometimes have a collar at the bottom of the threaded part. If yours do, then you just need to back drill the holes a little on the inside so the collar can fit in. Otherwise you have to rout out the switch area as mentioned.

Good luck!

That was pretty much what I meant. You could just use a Forstner bit or something similar, unless the whole switch needs to be recessed.
