Question switching a 1/4in jack?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Hartke HyDrive 115c and when I want to use the direct in/out only, I have to manually unplug the main speaker (1/4 inch plug - like a TRS) inside the rear of the cabinet. I was thinking it might be cleaner to make a small box to go in series with the jack, with an on/off switch on its side - but I don't know about audio power-connections and what switches are rated for them (250W), and if I need to look for a "low noise" or "low impedance" switch, or...?

TIA,
Patti
