SX SJB 75 + Audere JZ3 - Which pickup?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello everyone, I have a SX SJB 75 and I want to improve his sound. I already ordered an Audere JZ3(not arrived yet) but I don't know which pickup I should get. I play mostly blues, funk and rock. I think I'll pick one of the three above... Can you help me? Thanks and my apologies for my bad english

I would suggest the Nordstrand Jazz Pickups but if they are too expensive and you want the deep fat tone with good mids and mellow highs Then Get the DiMarzios they sound great and are not too expensive.

Tough call, the Bartoloni will be hum canceling, but the Quarter Pounder will sound nice and thick. If you don't mind the single coil hum go with the Quarter Pounder...

Thanks for the replies!
The Nords are a little expensive to me...
Do you think that I can get a cool funky tone and a tim commenford-like tone using the dimarzios with the JZ3?

Yes.
Dimarzios are great pickups but they have that tone.

Oh, so I think I'll give it a try!
I just asked because you wrote "but they have that sound" hehe
I just can't wait to install the JZ3, it will take a few days to arrive since I live in Brazil

Kent Armstrong

not hum-cancelling, except when used together...

quality pickups $150 for the pair = money well spent

The Bartolini 9CBJS sound quite nice in my SJB-75. They are more open than regular Bartolinis, but still warm sounding.

I found a set of Kent Armstrongs VJBF for a good price here in Brazil(about $86,00), but they are made in Korea. Should I go for it? Thanks!
